The Roma have showed interest on this 32-year-old player and they have sent to London their sporting director Daniele Prade to open up dialogue.

According to Il Tempo, Prade flew out to London to watch the Arsenal playing against Porto, but in the match William Gallas was not playing. However, Prade got close to the player and discover more on his situation. It is learned that Roma are likely to monitor the progress of Gallas after Claudio Ranieri expressed a penchant for him.

Presently William Gallas is in talks with Islington club. The two are negotiating over a new deal. It is also learned that Galls is said to take a pay cut. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, however, standing firm on any decision.

The absence of captain Cesc Fabregas, feels Porto coach Jesualdo Ferreira, that it will not change the way Arsenal tackle the Champions League clash on Tuesday night at the Emirates Stadium.

Fabregas suffered a reoccurrence of a hamstring problem on Saturday in the Barclays Premier League game against Burnley in which the team won by 4-1.

Samir Nasri, the French international, is likely to be moved into the centre.

Ferreira said, “Success always depends on the collective team, every player is part of that. Fabregas not playing will not change the way Arsenal face this match. We can expect a very strong Arsenal.”

He also said further, “The match will probably be decided by small details – Arsenal are very good in dealing with these, but we will focus on our own strength.”

Porto till now have lost all the 6 of their trips to London.

According to Ferreira, the Tuesday match will be different.

He said, “We know what our qualities are and we are confident. This will be a very difficult match, but we have the weapons which make it tough for Arsenal. You need to be able to adapt tactically, but we are always playing to win. We will try to do the same what we did at Estadio do Dragao.”

The opinion of Frenchman regarding the accident was not changed ever after a week.
Wenger acknowledges the importance of tough tackling but he is in the right that players should remain disciplined

Moreover, he admired the commitment of English game and demanded discipline and fair play.

He said tackling is an art but getting physical and breaking legs, is not the way to defend your side. We have witnessed some good tackling is this tournament but making some one hurt is just not fair. This goes good for all the players including Arsenal.

Arsenal ultimately beaten Stroke by 3-1 and might displace Chelsea in the ranking of Premier league with a four goal victory over Burnley. Wenger is confident that his players will put Ramsey’s controversy aside and concentrate on winning the title.

Wenger said that this win over Stroke was imperative and proved good to us for the rest of the season. All that matters for winning is how much we are consistent and how good we perform from start till end.

The claim of Arsenal boss has been dismissed by Owen Coyle, the Bolton manager, the players in Arsenal are targeted by the opponents of the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger fumed at the leg-breaking challenge of Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross on Aaron Ramsey this weekend. Wenger had earlier also seen Abou Diaby and Eduardo suffer the same injuries. However, Coyle had rejected the suggestions that Arsenal are specifically given over-the-top treatment by rivals.

He said, “They are special players, no doubt about that, but there is no way in the world that anyone would go out to intentionally hurt or maim any player… Ramsey is a terrific talent and is going to be a top player but there’s no way that was intentional to hurt him.”

He added that there was difference between competitiveness and recklessness.

Coyle said further, “If you’re not motivated to go out there and be aggressive to begin with, to earn the right to play, then you’re going to be run over the top of and made to look foolish… We all take pride in trying to make our players competitive, to go and earn the right, as we say in football, but there’s no way you’d say ‘Go and smash this and that’.”

In January Coyle complaint over a William Gallas challenge on Mark Davies, the Bolton midfielder. He later on admitted that he saw things a bit differently after a few days’ reflection.

Once again Arsene Wenger is surrounded by heated discussion about modern football intensity and aggression. There were clearly two groups and their opinions were wide apart, one believed that there should not be any sever injure, but such incidents are part of game where there happens close contact between players, while other including wenger, reiterated that such extremities should be restricted by imposing stricter rules and thorough cleaning of existing system.

This issue got heated up after arsenal’s 19 years midfielder Aaron Ramsey broken his leg bone by a hit from stroke city’s Ryan shawcross, after such incident Aaron is required to stay away from game for more than eight months.

Arsenal‘s manager reported that opponent’s manager deliberately instructed to take such actions and kept encoring team by saying “get in their faces” and “Wenger’s boys don’t like it up ‘em”, Wenger declared this act as “Horrendous and unacceptable.”

Statistics suggest that stoke city has committed lesser fouls as compared to any other premier league team against Arsenal.

Bacary Sagna predicts that Arsenal will this season’s Premier League. He is also not fazed of the fact that The Gunners trail Chelsea by 6 points and are also 5 adrift of second-placed Manchester United.
Sagna is is convinced that Arsenal can overhaul Chelsea and Man Uni, but he also accepts that there can be no slip-ups between now and the campaign end.

He told to the media, “Why not? There is destiny and I am sure this is Arsenal’s one and I am sure we will celebrate at the end. Even if we are behind Chelsea and Manchester United today we have many games to play and we just want to win everything. We don’t want to finish the season with regrets.”

Bacary Sagna is a bit relaxed about the task size facing the Gunners even though recognising that less than the max points from their eleven remaining games might not be enough good.

Sagna added further, “We have to win everything to finish first but we don’t put pressure on ourselves. We just want to play our football and play game after game and win.”

News of The World reports that AC Milan, the Italian giants, are showing interest on signing Gael Clichy, the left back of Arsenal. It is also believed that the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is thinking over selling the French defender as he was not at his best in the recent seasons. Moreover, Clichy’s current contract is to be expired in two years.

To be speaking in personnel, both the club, Arsenal as well as Milan, have at left back. Clichy’s move could in fact benefit both the clubs and also Clichy too.

Arsenal has young Kieran Gibbs. He is considered as the future England left back. Last season he showed his potential of making big at the top level. Kieran Gibbs is 20-year-old and he could have given some tough competition to Clichy if he had been fit by now.

Arsene Wenger may have been tempted of thinking the English defender is his option for long term at the left back. He is also having Armand Traore, a pretty good deputy this season for Clichy. Hence, Wenger have two other talented left fullbacks and if Clichy is sold then the money, around £16 million, can be utilised in supplementing summer transfer kitty of Arsenal.

Alves told to the media that Cesc Fabregas is the key player in the Gunners attacking play. He also added further, “He organises the game and we have to be prepared for him.”

Against the Arsenal, Alves had scored in a 2-0 victory on the Matchday 6 last season. He still believes that it is imperative Porto, who are the winners of the 2004 competition, will be taking the complete advantage of being at home in the first-leg.

He mentioned, “Our main goal is to gain a good advantage in tomorrow’s game.”

He also said, “We go into every competition with a winning mentality; the Champions League is no an exception.”
