Well, David Beckham appears seems to be on the cusp a return to his team England with Wigan Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers all thought to have made contact with him for getting him on short-term load deal.

Beckham is still under the contract of LA Galaxy for third successive January move to Europe. He has spent his last two winters with AC Milan.

In the year 2008, Wilshere benefited from the training of Beckham. Then Wilshere was playing for the youth team. Now, he is eager to see the experience repeat once again and also younger Gunners would get some experience too.

He said, “Bring Becks to Arsenal what a great example he would be for all of us!… His professional attitude, ability and experience! [I’d] love to work with him!”

The Gunners have also been linked to Chris Samba, the defender of Blackburn, and also to Mertesacker. Now, it seems as if for Arsene Wenger the transfer window has been opened to step in his chase for the Werder defender. It is learned that the Wenger has tabled a bid of £8.5 million, but more than £10 million is being looked forward by Bundesliga club.

The interest of Roy Hodgson is also very clear. He had Liverpool director of football strategy Damien Comolli who advised last month the the club would hand over the money and make his signing a priority.

Jamie Carragher is presently injured with shoulder injury and is out of field. This makes sense that Mertesacker would surly be taking the defence of Liverpool and he would certainly be a great addition to the Reds squad.

On Monday, Manchester United host Arsenal.

Earlier, Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson said, “Real men don’t wear snoods.”

Rio Ferdinand, the defender of United Man tweeted, “U won’t see a Man Utd player wearing a snood.”

The time Man Uni and Gunners meet on Monday, Chelsea could top the league if they win on Sunday at Tottenham. Moreover, if the Manchester City scores eight unanswered goals on Saturday against West Ham then they can rise to the summit.

This season, so far the united are unbeaten. They have won eight matches and drawn the rest seven.

It can reclaim the top place in the league after it meeds on Monday the provisional leader Arsenal in the showcase match of the division.

Man Uni is just a poing behind Arsenal, but there is one game in hand after a match was called off at Blackpool due to frozen pitch.

Defeating Fulham by 2-1, Arsenal took advantage for a third straight win and the team will be buoyed on Wednesday in the Champions League after sealing a place in the knockout stage.

Last season, United winger Nani tormented the defence of Gunners at Emirates Stadium. Now they are expecting a match to savour at Old Trafford.

Winger said, “It’s always a fantastic game. Everyone wants to play the big games and I think it will be a fantastic atmosphere… Arsenal are doing well but we are doing well too. We just have to concentrate on our own performance.”

Since 2004, Gunners are looking to claim the title.

But this time, the best football playing France midfielder Samir Nasri says, “Arsenal are a bigger threat than Chelsea now,” he said. “Chelsea have lost a few games and drawn some and their confidence looks a bit low. Arsenal have been winning and being top of the league gives you great confidence.”

Arsenal also defeated Tottenham by 3-2 last weekend and then was leading in the Champions League by 2-0. The club again went down to Braga in the midweek. At Villa Park, Gunners were at danger signals and visitors held their nerve to win.

Manager Wenger said, “At 2-0, at half-time, you could feel amongst the players that what happened last week (against Tottenham) had an impact in their head. When Villa came back to 2-1, it was in interesting test for my team. We could have crumbled or we could score again – and we did the latter. We got a good mental response.”

He further added that the team is too interesting and their wavelength is tuned to the way all the players want to play.

Wenger mentioned that they always don’t lose when they dominate the games and his guys played well. Aston Villa had a good comeback, said he.

In a recent comment Arsenal winger Theo Walcott confessed that the defeat on Sunday was a harsh blow to Gunner’s ambitions, and they surely wouldn’t look for third consecutive defeat.

In an interview he said forthcoming match against Wolves would be crucial for Gunners, giving a perfect opportunity to erase the sadness of defeat. Walcott believed that one win could fix the form of whole team.

“Football is a great game, you have ups and downs, with clubs like us slipping up,” Walcott told to a private sports channel.

“However, there are plenty of teams in it still, but we are not going to look too far ahead.”

The Sunday defeat against Newcastle has paused the ambition of Gunners to close the gap on league leaders Chelsea, but the winger was optimistic and said past result would hamper their future aspiration.

He further said at present he wanted to focus on single game, and take a step when we could.

Walcott who gained his form since returning from an ankle injury happened during a game in September. He said he drew inspiration from his team-mates but also got enough boost up from Chelsea rival Didier Drogba.

Arsene Wenger’s team got a suggestion from rival Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton – Gunner’s weakness. Joey Barton said he along with colleagues Andy Carroll and Shola Ameobi could enter the defense because this was the weakest point of Gunners.

Ameobi is in a great form with six goals with two in last Sunday’s 5-1 rout of Sunderland, and with a win against Arsenal Sunday, Newcastle is in a high tide.

Before the game in Emirates stadium, many stalwarts could predict that Carroll and Ameobi’s height and power could be the key to Newcastle taking anything from Arsene Wenger’s title challenging side. The recent win against West Ham was not convincing at home and later defeated by at Shakhtar Donetsk in a midweek Champions League game.

“Arsenal have had some good results, but had a difficult game against West Ham last Saturday,” said Barton.

“Obviously, they beat us in the Carling Cup, but I think the scoreline was very fortunate for them. It flattered them.

Joey further said before the game they hoped to defeat Wenger’s team and result of today’s match proved that. Andy Carroll’s first-half header gave Newcastle their first league wins at Arsenal.

Today Arsenal defeat has made them to slipping gloomily off by league leaders Chelsea, who ahead of 8 points. In today’s match Newcastle played a disciplined match, and the strong defense created problems from Arsenal strikers to find a loopholes.

Arsene Wenger’s side struggled to create chances against a well drilled and disciplined Newcastle side who have delivered a result that moves them up to fourth in the table and should significantly ease the pressure on their manager.

Amongst Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Dutch star Wesley Sneijder is believed to be favorite contender because of his brilliant effort to win his club Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League treble last season.

This is the first time Fifa is organizing Fifa Ballon d’Or award, which is a combination of the Fifa World Player of the Year award and the France Football Ballon d’Or.

Shortlist for the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2010:
