Arsene Wenger praised Gunners mentality as the players held off Aston Villa second-half comeback and won at Villa Park by 4-2.

Arsenal also defeated Tottenham by 3-2 last weekend and then was leading in the Champions League by 2-0. The club again went down to Braga in the midweek. At Villa Park, Gunners were at danger signals and visitors held their nerve to win.

Manager Wenger said, “At 2-0, at half-time, you could feel amongst the players that what happened last week (against Tottenham) had an impact in their head. When Villa came back to 2-1, it was in interesting test for my team. We could have crumbled or we could score again – and we did the latter. We got a good mental response.”

He further added that the team is too interesting and their wavelength is tuned to the way all the players want to play.

Wenger mentioned that they always don’t lose when they dominate the games and his guys played well. Aston Villa had a good comeback, said he.
