Theo Walcott injured, may be left for six weeks

September 9 2010 2 Commented

Theo Walcott got ankle injury in the match of England vs Switzerland in the build up of the first goal on Tuesday. England won the match by 3-1, but the injury of Walcott is a crisis for Arsenal ahead of visit of Bolton on Saturday.

Initially the Arsenal boss Fabio Capello predicted a two-week lay-off for Walcott, but the injury could be worse and Wenger is left facing six weeks on the sidelines.

Walcott had scored four goals in the three Premier League for the Gunners and Capello had dumped him from the World Cup squad. Now the injury has interrupted season for him.

21-year-old Walcott also started this season all three of England’s internationals. He could now miss the next Euro 2012 qualifier for England against Montenegro on October 12 at the Wembley.

Loss of Walcott is another blow Arsene Wenger when Robin van Persie was sidelined due to ankle problem.
