Captain Cesc Fabregas said recently that Barca tried level best to prise him, but he was to stay by the Gunners.

Fabregas has become a poster boy and as reported by ‘Sport’ magazine, Barcelona may sign him in ten months.

There were no choice for the captain. He said that he had to stay on the summer with the Emirates Stadium as the transfer saga reached the conclusion.

He told to the media, “Barcelona made every effort to sign me, but Arsenal had told me to stay, which in no way I was going to refuse, and in the end I had to stay.”

He believes that with the Gunners the season is “a long one”. He also mentioned that he wants to “be professional and give it everything.”

Away from the Emirates, Fabregas’ future yet not decided as he drew the line on Barca talk.

He said, “What happens in the future? We’ll see… I do not think of anything because if I think of the future it would not let me focus on the present and I would have a bad year.”
