Arsenal need to break Chelsea’s record of 100+ goals

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger asserted that Arsenal’s No. 1 will be that goalkeeper who will play against Liverpool this season opener, if Arsenal don’t sign any goalkeeper. Now it seems that Almunia may keep the record of being No.1 goalkeeper. However, Lukasz Fabianski is still as the back-up goalkeeper.

This season’s interesting fact is that no goalkeeper has been sent out on load.

Szczesny had a successful stint after being loaned out to Brentford. He and Mannone, both against Fulham in 2009, will be getting chances in the Carling Cup this year and also in the initial rounds of FA cup.

If the two are able to grab their opportunities, they may push Almunia for a starting spot.

The failure of Arsene Wenger to sign Aussie Mark Schwarzer will give these two opportunities to show their talents.

As of now, Almunia is the first choice goalkeeper and Fabianski, though unreliable, will work as his back-up.

With them Arsenal need to break the 100+ goals record of Chelsea in a season to keep their title aspirations alive.
