Arsenal signs Sebastien Squillaci from Sevilla
Arsenal is on the way to strengthen the defence line and was found signing Sebastien Squillaci, France international from Sevilla. Spanish club have confirmed this offer.
In fact these days it was seen Arsenal lacking experienced cover at the back. Moreover, out-of-contract veterans Sol Scampbell, William Gallas and Mikael Silvestre will be leaving the club this summer.
30-year-old Squillaci was asked to leave the Sevilla’s Champions League play-off on Thursday against Barga to avoind being cup-tied.
Sevilla’s official website writes: “Sebastien Squillaci’s future is in the air. As was confirmed by sporting director Ramon Rodriguez at the airport in Porto, the club have received an offer from Arsenal.”
Squillaci is also former Lyon defender and he is currently rated at £6.5million. Well, it is still uncertain whether Arsenal have matched the valuation of the player.
This summer we have also seen Arsenal investing in defence and signing promising centre-back Laurent Koscielny from Lorient. The deal was at £10million.
After the defeat in Portugal with 1-0 Rodriguez said to a Spanish newspaper, “The player asked not to play because of the offer from such a big team but, for the moment, we believe the offer is insufficient and Squillaci is still a Sevilla player.”

mr wenger,1,2,3,4,5,6yrs without a trouphy is a disgrace,common mr wenger buy buy and produce.
I think we as arsenal fans we need the Trouphy this season.But we cant get a Trophy we thout buying new talented players , for me we needed two new striker who is competent enough , also One centre back & one attacking mid filder without 4geting new goal keeper other wise we will keep no trophy in this season.
Wenger has the money to buy a trophy…why worry…the more money he saves the bigger his bonus at the end of the season, that is why he is still at Arsenal.
Arsenal back is extremely poor please by more potential defenders.
I see very little difference betwen him and Gallas, any way AW go ahead and bring him fast. i would prefer Tasci or Cahill. Frimpong is now nine months in the sickbay who will cover Song? bringing Melo would have been good,Nasri two months and many more to join the likes of B52.i guess Djouru will soon be there, so it signifies that to challenge for honours we need to do alot in the market.

I mr. Wenger should something like bringing atleast three centre backs coz we r deprived in that area as injuries trickles in and it is this same same old story we Arsenal fans have been singing season in season out last season we almost socked 45 goals,wot a leaking defence we shuldnt blame Almunia coz even if yuo expose Petr cech he will sockb more goals than that.
