Arsenal firebrand manager Arsene Wenger expects a good show against AC Milan and Celtic to send signal of their mettle in the Premier League. Arsenal, though played well, but not clinched a trophy in five years. This time Arsenal manager is confident to end that barren spell.

Arsenal have got an early opportunity to accelerate their progress in a prestigious pre-season tournament, at their own Emirates Stadium, against seven time European champion AC Milan, and Scottish giant Celtic and French club Lyon.

In a recent times, Arsene Wenger was more focused on close fight with Barcelona for Cesc Fabregas to dismiss the attempt to way back their captain to the Nou Camp. Now, he is more concentrate on the practice of his young team and hoping a positive season.

“I am very confident we’ll do better than last season,” Wenger said. “We know in England that the Premier League is the biggest league in the world and everybody invests a lot of money.

“We invest in our work, in our beliefs, in the quality of our behaviour and I am confident that will pay off.

“We finished third last year and we hope we can improve on that. But the race will be tough.”

It was reported that Arsenal captain and Spain superstar Cesc Fabregas has already cleared to Wenger that he wanted to rejoin Barca, his childhood club. However, from Arsenal side there is no indication that they are ready to let loose their star player and no sign of the deadlock being broken.

Fabregas will not play this weekend as he is in rest after a exhausted World Cup. With the captain missing, Arsenal fans will certainly get an idea how the future Arsenal team would be viewed without their star captain.
