Arsenal And Tottenham Bans Vuvuzelas
The much exciting vuvuzelas is banned by two English Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham from their stadium this season.
Vuvuzelas became popular in the World Cup 2010 and gave the soundtrack as fans blew plastic horns throughout games. The sound seemed a monotonous hymn that drowned out crowd chants.
Although crowd loved it but criticized heavily by players and television audience and as a result several English Premier League clubs have already banned it during matches.
Tottenham officials feared vuvuzelas would pose safety risk as it causes disturbing atmosphere at White Hart Lane.
“We are concerned that the presence of the instruments within the stadium pose unnecessary risks to public safety and could impact on the ability of all supporters to hear any emergency safety announcements,” a club statement read.
“We are very proud of the fantastic atmosphere that our supporters produce organically at White Hart Lane and we are all very much looking forward to this continuing into the forthcoming season.”
Arsenal have the same thinking as Tottenham and opined strongly against it. They have decided to ban the use of blowing instrument within Emirates Stadium with immediate effect.
“This decision has been taken to ensure the enjoyment and safety of supporters on match days, which is of paramount importance to the club.”
