Alexandre Song, the midfielder of Arsenal, sings a different song. He has lately signed a new contract to be applicable till 2014. Yes, a long contract of course.

Song, 22-year-old, has always been a starter for Arsenal in this season. He is playing in the 18 of the club’s 23 Premier League and also European games.

He had spent a spell on loan in the year 2007 with Charlton. It was a £1m signing from the French side Bastia in the year 2006.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wnger said, “He is an important player… He has four years to go after this season, to 2014.”

Alexandre Song arrived in Arsenal after an initial loan-spell from Bastia. He had also established himself in the Cameroon midfield. There he had won 15 cap and this had helped the country to qualify for the African Cup of Nations in January and also in the next summer’s World Cup finals in South Africa.

Song is the third player in Arsenal who has signed in a long-term deal in the past week. The other two are striker Eduardo and 18-year-old winger Sanchez Watt.
