Former defender Campbell plans to return to train
Sol Campbell, the former Arsenal defender, is planning of a return to the Gunners. He had talked to Arsene Wenger about his returning to Arsenal to train and also try to regain his fitness.
Last month he had walked out on Notts County after playing only a single game though he for signed for five-year deal. He blames of broken promises from the fourth tier management of the club.
Campbell, 35, said to the reporters that Notts County is still to release him from the contract and hence he is unable to join any new club right now according to the rules of FIFA.
Campbell, centerback, met the Arsenal boss on the sidelines of an African education campaign that was launch at the Emirates Stadium of Arsenal and he informally spoken to him about using Arsenals training facilities in order to overcome the few minor fitness concerns in him.
Sol Campbell was for five seasons with the Gunners after he moved from the north London rival Tottenham in 2001.
He said to media, “It will be great to train here and get fit… I’ve spoken to Arsene, hopefully we can get everything right and speak to the right people and get a couple of the physios and fitness guys to help me and train… My overall fitness is OK. But something else might happen before then.”
