Cesc Fabregas has been injured and is reported that he will miss the Champions League playoff second leg tie against Celtic at home on Wednesday. Manager Arsene Wenger confirmed this.

Fabrega is a 22-year-old midfielder and has excelled in the 2-0 first-leg win at Celtic Park on August 18. He had a hamstring injury while playing against Portsmouth in the Premier League game on Saturday.

On the official website of Arsenal Wenger said, “His scan was quite reassuring as he has no muscular strain but it will take a few days to settle down.”

Wenger is optimistic but Fabregas may also miss the Premier League clash Manchester United at the Old Trafford on Saturday.

Wenger said, “There’s a chance he’ll be fit for Old Trafford,” the Frenchman added ahead of Arsenal’s return leg with Celtic.”
