Arsenal wins over Everton; Wenger stays calm
Arsene Wenger, the manager of Arsenal, recently refused to have been carried away after his side routed Everton 6-1 on the first day of the Premier League season at the Goodison Park.
This victory over Everton left Arsenal top of the table after many had raised questiones whether the London club could maintain its status as one of English football’s ‘Big Four’ Champions. The other three are Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Arsene Wenger told to the media after the win on Saturday, “From before the game being ruled out by everybody to now become a super favourite, there’s two extremes.” He also added, “It was an interesting first game.”
Denilson, William Gallas and Thomas Vermaelen scored in the first-half. Cesc Fabregas added two in the second-half and Eduardo rounded off the rout before Everton’s Louis Saha gave a last-minute consolation.
Since 2005 FA Cup Arsenal have not won a major trophy.
