Ramsey intends to follow Walcott
By Randy Osae
A year ago, Aaron Ramsey was taking Arsene Wenger’s promises into consideration.
The Welsh youngster had also held conversations with Alex Ferguson and David Moyes as Manchester United and Everton contested for his signature before Arsenal jumped in with the latest pursuit.
But the 18-year-old preferred French offer to Scottish.
And a year on, Ramsey may reflect on a relatively indifferent campaign in which he was normally gifted participation in cup games and cameos in the league, but Aaron is not complaining at all.
Indeed, Arsenal’s number 16 expressed delight of his debut season at the club by penning a long-term deal yesterday and is adamant his time will come.
The Welsh boy sees similarities between his experience at the club and that of Theo Walcott during the 2006/07 season and Ramsey yearns to follow the footsteps of the England winger to mature.
“We both came from Championship clubs to join Arsenal and I think my first year has been quite similar to Theo’s first year at Arsenal,” said Ramsey. “But then in the second year he played a lot more games and got more experience under his belt, so hopefully I can take the same path.
“We’ve talked about it before, I’ve asked him how he found it when he was in my position. Now I want to be more regular in the starting eleven, get a lot more games under my belt and hopefully start more games as well. They are my targets.”

our new General in midfield for years to come!!!!! I love to see him play such an intellegent player with good shot and brillant technique. Can only get better!! Good luck mate!! Looking forward to new season. Him and Jack will be get a lot more games next year!!
Up the gunners!!
Ramsey will be, I believe, the natural successor to Cesc, should he ever get fed up with having to reassure the Fans.
Ramsey on as cesc, wilshere on the left, walcott on the right, coquelin as our defensive midfielder, bendtner and vela to lead the line.
Gibbs as left back, nordveit and djourou as CB and hoyte at right back.
Fabianski as the goalkeeper…
yeah ramsey will succeed cesc thats for sure, cesc should be gone within 3 seasons, next season if we don’t win anything
see guys if we do buy TOP TOP DM then i recon we will see the best out of the likes of ramsey, luvvvv the boy hes just incridbl 4 his age,i honestly thnk this guy is the new gerrad with a bit of fabry on him, thats why wenger need 2 get expernce DM so we can see the best of him and DEno,them 2 will go lnnggggg way mark ma word,nt like song and diaby coz they had aloot of chances n didnt tak them,CANA&SENNA(this the sort of player ramsey needs 2 have beside him and 2 learn 4rm)and it will only do us thw world of good, dnt u thnk guyz??
Good news. Real classy player and reassuring. I can see him and Coquelin being the long term midfield partnership
Ramsey is a brilliant player, the fact that he snubbed red nose fergie for Wenger make him even more special,
Talking about DM….I can bet my house on this…….Wenger will not be buying anyone DM….he will continue with Denilson N Song…..he will only strengthen the Defence……..
