Discussion & Photos: Fabregas at ‘Campus Cesc’ event

Arsenal’s captain was accompanied by Gerard Pique earlier this week as he attended a gathering at the Arenys de Mar sports facility, where a summer camp – ‘Campus Cesc’ – was held.
Indeed this was the occasion where a group of kids in the audience posed the question: “Cesc, why do you not want to join Barcelona?”
That is when Arsenal’s captain replied, as quoted by El Mundo Deportivo: “I would like to, but I have a contract with Arsenal and it is necessary to respect it.”
The conversation went on, and Pique was also questioned: “Why do you not convince Cesc to join Barca?”
He would answer: “I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to convince him, but there is no way… not for now.”
Fabregas then reiterated his commitment to a Gooner who called for the skipper’s attention.
“I am the captain, and rest assured, I will continue at Arsenal,” the 22-year-old midfielder affirmed.
The event – also reported by goal.com - took place yesterday and there are a few snap-shots to show for it.
Hes a great player but fucking hell everything he saying lately seems to show his heart ainnt in it. he shouldnt stay just because of a poxy contract fuck off if he feels so in love with barcelona. surely players who want to play for the gunners would be better. hes a great player but at the same time we hhavent won anything with him so he needs to stop thinking he is indispensible

The reason Cesc won’t go now is he won’t get in the team ahead of Iniesta and Xavi. In a few years that could change and until then, I think Cesc is clever enough to realise that. Until then he’s our player. So stop questioning his commitment. There’s no such thing in modern football. Put yourself in his situation and ask yourself why you shouldn’t go if Barca comes calling in. I don’t blame him for saying he wants to play there one day.
cesc will eventually go to barcalona because it is his home town and team. there is no way of stopping him leaving so lets just enjoy it while he is still here

Hes said loud and clear that he will go back to Barca one day. Guess i have to respect that decision and like someone said above, enjoy what we have while he is here. I only hope he doesnt run his contract down and leave on a freebie.
