The name ‘Michael Jackson’ surpasses even that of our football icons. And football does have its relations to music and especially this legend of entertainment.

That is why it was extremely saddening news that the King of Pop passed away just moments ago.

We at Arsenal Spot would like to pay our deep-hearted gratitude to what this man brought to this world and would also like to express our most affectionate condolences to his family and every other person who supported him.

May Michael Jackson rest in total peace.

  8. Randy Osae says:

I personally am a massive fan of this man and his family. And that love strings from my own family.

My dad is the most passionate Jackson fan you would ever meet and that is why he named me after his brother Randy Jackson.

He had planned to name me after Michael himself of course, but he just felt that name was too common for some reason.

    R.I.P MJ

  9. Carlos says:

    RIP…Jacko

  10. goonaarE says:

I’m gutted. Fair enough last few years he’s been off the radar. I was hoping it was a massive publicity stunt. I grew up listening to alot of his stuff. remember when thriller video broke after midnight during the week on a school night – shocker!!!!!

The original big brother contestant – though he was infinitely more talented and was actually worthy of coverage – so not really a big brother contestant then…..I’ll just shut up then.

    Keep it Goonerish people!!!!

  11. LB says:

I’m really sad. Michael was my youth.

  12. Minty says:

  17. Hakeem says:

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace

  18. kiwigooner says:

one of the greatest entertainers ever to have lived for sure.

  19. goonaarE says:

no one is justifying or condonibg child molestation. i never heard any of his lyrics support it. so the music stands on it’s own merits. he was accused was found innocent what do you do? sections of media and individuals perpetuated idea there was no smoke without fire and so on. do you believe verdict or trial by media? personally I cannot be sure about anything but his musicianship and that’s that. i rather doubt anyone here knew the man personally.

I was never a fanatic about his music or him but there is no denying his place in my life experience growing up and for the most part accusations aside it was positive.

so comments about his alleged inappropriate involvement with minors are sort of misplaced and maybe part of a different discussion thread.

    keep it goonery peeps!

  20. Armiyau says:

  26. ASNLthruNthru says:

  27. goonaarE says:

good singer songwriter. never loved the man. it’s a reality that he was a phenomenon. the “we love you MJ” brigade is a bit vomit inducing but get used to it there will be loads of this sort thing for ages yet.

let’s talk football soon people. keep it goonery.

  28. kc says:

Great Artist. Best Entertainer of all time. Made some terrible unforgivable mistakes but this isn’t the time to be talking about them. Who knows what it was like to be a Major Star at 6 years of age, or to have a father like his. All I’m sayin is the guy did HUGE things for shaping the World of Music! He will be Remembered for that. RIP MJ

  29. Gooner Chris says:

    R.I.P – A true legend.

Great to see a Sports blog posting a tribute to the King of Pop.

  30. Kunle says:

Sad news really it is. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace

  31. dylan says:

he died of a heart attack oh lol bye bye michele jackson lmao

  32. anon says:

the child molestation had no substance. it was clearly families trying to get money out of the guy.

he did have so psychological problems, but that was down to his childhood –> never actually having one. the guy was a professional sing and performer by age 5.

RIP Michael, the greatest artist of recorded music. Would never forget your contribution to the world.

  33. shooy says:

    Losers. Come on you Gooners!

  34. gunnerman says:

Anon is right they took advantage of his psychological problems although he did admit to sleeping in the same bed as children sexual abuse was never proven so stop recognizing as jacko the whacko and realize what he really is, the king of pop
    may he R.I.P

  35. colon cleansing says:

I was SHOCKED when I heard about Michael Jackson death yesterday! I believe he was a kind and gentle man who was miss represented and was taken advantage off because of his fame and fortune. I do believe his father is to blame. Do to his greed for cash, he pushed his kids especially Michael to perform. He defiantly missed his childhood! I hope where ever he is, he is the child he always wanted to be! RIP my friend!

  36. Usama says:

R.I.P Michael….anyone here thinks it could be a clever murder?

  37. gunnerman says:

    yes, i do
it is believed that his family doctor was every step of the way up to his death, and now he is nowwhere to be found…..

  38. jonathan cox says:

he was my idol i will miss his great dancing rest in peace buddy

  39. Usama says:

this isn’t the only time when their is a rumour that someone has accepted islam and after sometime he/she dies… which is cleverly covered up by the media
