In contrary to reports earlier today that he had negatively criticized the club, Cesc Fabregas has made an official public statement to clarify his comments were indeed expressed with strong affection for Arsenal and were constructive.

This is the umpteenth time Arsenal’s skipper has been forced to rebuff ‘wrong’ quotes by the media and as he reaffirms his commitment to the club yet again, Fabregas might as well prevent more of these incidents by just showing up more tight-lipped to the media.

“I’m not sure how many times I need to talk directly about my commitment to Arsenal as I continue to say the same thing over and over again, but it appears that every time I have spoken to the Spanish media recently, my words have bounced back to England, leaving question marks about my future.

“So, for anyone who is unclear or may have misunderstood what my position is, let me make myself absolutely crystal clear. I am wholeheartedly committed to Arsenal and my future lies with this great Club.

“It is a fact that we have not won a trophy for four years and yes, I am angry about that, but that anger stems from the deep deep desire I have to win things with Arsenal. I care about this Club and believe in this team.

I am proud to captain this team and proud to wear the shirt. It really upsets me when people express my thoughts otherwise. The spirit in this squad is fantastic and we have the ability and mentality to compete on all fronts for silverware. Make no mistake, we are focussed and determined to show that we are capable of achieving great things together.”

Anyway, here is a gallery of the skipper in action for Spain against the United States yesterday.

He is pretty definite here. No questions for now. Cecs must get sick of the Spanish press.

  2. Goonblogger says:

Its not the spanish press denver, they didn’t twist anything, its the beloved English press. Scum.

  3. Duane says:

He needs to stop talking!! The more he does the more his commitment would be scrutinized.
One more word from you boy and we ship you out…LOL!!!

  4. Daz says:

What a top, top lad!!! Just shows what a decent guy he is by putting all the fans minds at rest so quickly! A TRUE CAPTAIN

  5. Caknucklehead says:

upset w the press and what about the fans who eat up that sh*t and are callin for Wenger to sell him….jeez, sometimes I really hate the internets! and faux fans. we love and respect you Cesc…fight on brutha!

  6. Singh says:

That has shut up all you idiotic “supporters” who don’t think and accept all that they read in our trashy papers!!!! Fair play Cesc. Well done! You’re a star! Our captain indeed

  7. Hugo says:

The poor bloke must get so pissed with having to say this pretty much every couple of weeks!

  8. John Loizou says:

English media are so corrupt. Make up anything the bastards.

  9. Gav says:

forget the media. everyone knows what they are like it’s nothing new!

however fabregas as captain of arsenal and with 6 years of proffessional experience should know better and just shut up when it comes to talking to the media.

why does it keep happening. sure he can make a mistake and thisngs get misquoted. it happens to every foorballer. but it keeps happening to him and he should know better.. he keeps having to make statements confirming his love for arsenal but he keeps making teh same mistake and feeding ammunition to the scum media.

    fabregas is not guilt free……

  10. Singh says:

He responds to media innocently. If you look at the questions asked, cesc would never have thought they were trying to get something out of him. “would your family support you if you went to Madrid” of course they would was his answer. Doesn’t mean he’s going. Two very different things!! Even if cesc did say no comment, the press would be likely to go on about how cesc is keeping his cards close to his chest, how he is quiet about his arsenal future, how he refuses to answer to questions about joining baeca or Madrid. No win situation fir the guy. You idiots should realize this and support him!!

  11. USA Gunner says:

how come you never hear the names of Lampard, Gerrard of the other big names moving to the Spanish clubs?

I get sick how everyone always tries to poach our players. Granted we are known as a selling club, but hopefully after his off season when we keep everyone that it will send a message to the rest of the world that those days are done.

Well maybe see some..ha cough cough Diaby, Silveste

  12. Randy Osae says:

Hehe, I always love your “cough, cough”s USA…haha..cough cough

  13. elz gunner says:

Two rumours squashed today then. Captain not leaving as i think we all knew anyway and also Melo. Hopefully the latter rumours will disappear now. Melo is not the answer to anything- he was shown up by a certain Gilberto Silva the other day for Brazil and secondly his disciplinary record is awful and this is the kind of player Wenger doesn’t deal with (unless it’s Paddy V who i think we can all agree was different class)

  14. USA Gunner says:

what did they say about Melo?

You think we could have put in the bid for Teves or Pato?

I wouldn’t mind seeing a swap Ady for Pato…god that would be sweet!

  15. Steve says:

I think Cesc should shut it. He is not that good anyway. I think we should ditch all the foriegn players and sack wengers and get some english players like Lampard, gerrard and Rooney. These are top players not all the french and foreign shitload who brought nothing to our club…get rid now and bring in some english

  16. USA Gunner says:

wow, that could be the dumbest comment I’ve ever read on this blog.
Yeah I mean imagine what we did with Henry, Bergkamp, Pirez, Jens, Petit, Viera, Freddy, Reyes, Van Persie, Arshavin, Nasri, Gallas, Toure, and everyone else…wheewwwwwwww your right Steve!

    MORON

  17. Charlie says:

Shut it Steve, go and support another team if you think the team is not as important as the number of English players and don’t understand the financial aspects. The point is to build the best team on the budget available. The tabloid press gain nothing from printing intelligent opinions and everything from big headlines that idiots base their decisions on when they’re deciding which paper to buy. Fabregas is Spanish, Real have money, that’s all they need.

  18. Steve says:

you can say whatever you want…if we had english players and a manager we could have won more trophies…foriegners r not good enough…even henry was not as good as some of the english players like Owen back then…so I say throw all of them out and bring in some steal and a good manager (british).

  19. USA Gunner says:

look at how good the “english” teams have done ducher.

Grow up and learn something before you open your mouth.
