Yesterday marked exactly a week ago that Arsenal’s mission to rewrite history was thwarted…again.
Arsene Wenger’s side were ousted by Manchester United in only the club’s second ever semi-final appearance since the Champions League was formed in 1992.
That means 2005/06’s finalists remain the highest climbers within Arsenal’s European heights in history.
Surely, next year will see another try to clinch that elusive Champions League trophy but here was how they nearly brought that prestigious prize back to London for once.

One of the saddest days of my life, did not talk to my wife or kids for a whole week. This is what football and Arsenal does to you, shame what a great run. We need magical players like the 05 team, not kids. Look at how young Fab was, but great he played around the elders. This Almunia is still a poor man’s version of a goal keeper. That night i wanted to kill him, beaten by Eto from the acutest of angles, and then through his legs. 4 years on, and he’s still costing us games and being the average goalie he is.
All of the players on the field then were over 25 up (except fab who was exceptionally good) and we made the CL finals…. GET SOME EXPERIENCE WEGNER!
I got a knot in my throat and made my eyes teary watching this video (no joke)!!!! What a great run for us in 2006 CL. The Final was one to always look back and say we played almost the whole game w/ 10 men and did a tremendous job. I am so proud to be a Gunner and I can’t wait for us to get back to our dominating ways! Sad video at the end, but proves to me how much I love this team!

We have indeed lost a lot of great players and havent replace them sufficeintly…

BREAKING NEWS: So now we know,Adebayor is quoted by the bbc that he is only at Arsenal for the money and actually doesnt care anything about the club.
Bf the cl 2nd leg AW promised a magnificent performance .I’m afraid his desire to gatecrash the MU party could backfire.
But then football is an unpredictable game. Need i remind you liverpool were beaten in the 1987 Cup final by wimbledon.
If Arsenal can upset mu ,i would be over the moon.
