Just like every year in August Arsenal host the Emirates Cup. It’s a small pre-season competition to get the team started off and bring some big names to come and compete with us. We have seen the likes of Real Madrid, Valencia and Juventus all play in the competition.
The Daily Record are highly confident that the following teams will take place in the event, but nothing is solidly confirmed as of yet.
Inter Milan
Paris St Germain
Rangers
Whilst some believe the selected teams are a good choice, fans will argue with the fact the the Scottish giants “Rangers” will be taking part.
The team that lost in last years UEFA Cup Final who then caused mass riots are set to be given an allocated 10,000 seats which could earn the club a total of £750,000.
Many fans are unhappy on this outcome as you can see below:

Why are people complaining about Rangers, in the vast majority of seasons they have been in the Champions League. The same which cannot be said about PSG. Why not get Marseille or Lyon?

I’m a Rangers fan living in London and now have a ST for the emirates. I believe Rangers coming down would only be a good thing only the true fans would travel down for the games. Also Rangers would do us good its the tough tackling British style teams we struggle against could only improve our game.

I really dont understand the negative hype surrounding the Rangers support. Massive in numbers and the vast, vast majority of which are top guys always up for a party. Surely this is exactly what an otherwise dull preseaon tourney needs, a bit of atmosphere??
As for this being rangers “cup final”, what utter arrogant shit. They’ve won more competitions than any other club in the world, have a world-wide support which dwarfs all english clubs bar Pool and Man U, and create a tremendous atmosphere…. give them some respect, they certainly deserve it.

The entire public transport system closed early and taxis disappeared. Bars and restaurants closed. Yes there were a couple of hundred idiots who ruined things, but in a crowd estimated to be almost a quarter of a million, that is a tiny (tho unacceptable) minority. Proportionally, there are more arrests at your average EPL game.
And for those on here who say we are bigots, get it right. We fly the Union Jack, we honour the Queen. Check out which Scottish team has the fans that sing songs praising the I.R.A.

The Arsenal fans are already worried about Rangers fans coming to their stadium as if its an invasion. Its a pre season tournament which I attended last year and was bored due to the lack of atmoshphere. This is what we bring to any game and the team won’t be there just to make up the numbers.

Im a celtic/derby fan & believe it or not i attended a game a few years back as a pre-season benefit match for ted mcminn between derby vs rangers of which they brought down 15,000 well behaved fans,I think both Celtic & Rangers are 2 of the biggest away supported teams in the world & english clubs should be privilaged to have them playing down in england….Btw incase anyones forgot Celtic have only lost 1 game to an english team in europe at home & gave clubs a good run for their money at there own grounds as has rangers so why not be invited to play in these tournys!!!!
